The True Measure Collaborative (TMC) team engaged a full house during their presentation at the 2024 Integrated MTSS Conference, held at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman. The conference, themed Empowering Excellence: Co-Designing Systems through Instructional Leadership, brought together educators and leaders eager to learn and share best practices for inclusive education.
TMC’s Lunch and Learn session, Behavior Management Strategies to Reduce Restraint & Isolation was well attended, with standing room only, showcasing the high level of interest and engagement from attendees. This practical deep-dive session highlighted a proactive behavior management strategy designed to minimize the use of restraint and isolation in classrooms.
Our team modeled the use of collaborative coaching, providing participants with a set of valuable tools for building educator skills in inclusive systems. Attendees identified coping strategies to better anticipate and respond with empathy to escalating behaviors.
The incredible turnout and active participation underscored the importance of our work and the shared commitment to fostering safe and supportive learning environments. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to share our insights and look forward to continuing this critical dialogue in future conferences and workshops.
