Supporting the unique needs of Special Education teachers is essential to ensuring both compliance and the successful implementation of best practices for all students. At The True Measure Collaborative (TMC), we understand the complexities that educators face, especially those working in rural areas.
That’s why TMC, in partnership with the Rural Alliance (RA), is offering a unique professional development opportunity for special education teachers in rural Washington state school districts during the 2024-25 school year, designed to provide the support and resources these educators need to succeed.
The Special Education Teacher Community of Practice (CoP) helps educators build skills and stay connected with peers in similar roles from Washington rural school districts! This opportunity covers critical topics like IEP best practices, behavior management, and SpEd/GenEd collaboration.
For registrants, participation includes:
- monthly webinars
- office hour sessions
- individualized Technical Assistance consults
With a focus on practical solutions and compliance, this initiative ensures that educators working in rural districts can enhance their teaching effectiveness while supporting the diverse needs of their students.
Teachers can register anytime for this ongoing program, designed to strengthen the rural education community. CoP sessions began in October 2024, but teachers are welcome to join mid-year and will receive access to previously covered material. Mid-year registrations incur a prorated fee of $1,250.
By offering targeted, ongoing professional development opportunities, the TMC aims to empower educators with the tools and support they need to thrive in their roles. We believe that by investing in teachers, we can improve outcomes for students with disabilities and multilingual learners across Washington state.
